Greensboro College Presents “Opera Buffet” Dinner and Performance March 23-24

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College’s Opera and Musical Theatre workshops present their annual “Opera Buffet,” a buffet dinner followed by musical performances, at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 23-24, in Lea Center in Main Building on campus.

Tickets are $18 and must be reserved by March 17. To reserve them, call 336-272-7102, ext. 5242.

Performances after dinner will include selections from both African American musicals and operas and from French operas. Musical selections will be from the musicals “Ragtime,” “Once on This Island,” and “Lady Be Good.” Opera selections will be from “Porgy and Bess,” “Treemonisha,” “Tales of Hoffman,” “Lakme,” and “Carmen.”

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
