Our office works with ECSI, a tuition-payment plan agency, to offer 11-, 10-, and 9-month payment plans to divide your yearly balance into equal monthly payments. Each payment plan has a limited enrollment period. The 11-month payment plan opens May 1. There is an initial $80 fee to set up a payment plan with ECSI, but there are no additional charges, fees, or interest unless you miss a payment. You can visit ECSI online or call them directly at 1-866-927-1438.
Your parent may be interested in borrowing from the Federal Direct PLUS Loan for Parents program. Unlike private loans, the PLUS Loan does have an origination fee. If your parent is approved, he or she may use the loan to cover the remaining balance. As the borrower, your parent will be responsible for repaying the loan. If your parent is not approved, you may be eligible to borrow additional Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan funds.
The PLUS Loan Application for the 2020-21 Academic Year will not be available until May 1, 2020. For additional information about the PLUS Loan, or to apply, visit StudentLoans.gov. The applying parent will need to sign in using his or her FSA ID and password.
Private loans can help students who need additional funds to pay their balance. In most cases, the student will need a creditworthy co-signer. Many of our students use Citizens One, College Founation, PNC, Sallie Mae, or Wells Fargo. All terms and conditions are set by the bank or lending institution and you can find applications for these loans online. If you are unsure about which lender is right for you, our office offers a loan comparison tool to help you compare lenders.
