By staying engaged and enlightened in learning what has occurred in the past, History students understand our present on a deeper level and know how to better our future.
Taught by award-winning professors who serve as active history scholars and authors, Department of History students undergo one of the most demanding, thus potentially most rewarding, courses of study at Greensboro College. History classes incorporate a variety of textual, visual and audiovisual sources for learning history to help shape students’ analytical and communicative skills and prepare them for professional experience outside of the classroom at local historic sites, museums and community offices, or down the road as professional experts in the field.
Students engage with a wide breadth of historical contexts and critically analyze their learnings to understand how and why the world operates as it does today.
