PAWS is a one-day new student orientation program during the summer where students:
OUR Virtual PAWS orientation program will be broken out into two parts:
Part 1: 24/7 access to information about Greensboro College
This will include videos and other media meant to introduce you to the variety of supports and services available to GC students and help you prepare for a successful fall semester. More information coming soon about how students can access this content!
Part 2: Live orientation sessions via Zoom
These will be held on our regularly scheduled PAWS dates (see below) and will include advising and registration sessions for students as well as panels and Q&A sessions for parents and guardians. Additional information about the full schedule of live sessions will be shared soon!
Students are still expected to register for a virtual PAWS event. See instructions on how to register below!
Bonus! Pride Leader Connections
All incoming students will be paired with a Pride Leader, who will help connect incoming students to GC and one another. Pride Leaders are current GC students who have dedicated their summer to helping you as you transition to a full-time Greensboro College student. Students will receive more information about their Pride Leader in June!
Each PAWS session will be capped at 60 students, so we strongly encourage you to register early in order to get the date that best fits your schedule!
Sessions will be taken off the registration form once they reach the 60-student maximum. This may happen before the registration deadline!
At Greensboro College we understand that transferring to a new college can be a stressful and confusing time and that your needs are different from those of an incoming first-year student. That is why we designed a special Transfers Only PAWS (PAWS-T) with you in mind! Transfer students can choose to attend a traditional, first-year PAWS program or the Transfers Only PAWS program.
PAWS-T will take place on Monday, July 27 – Deadline to register is Wednesday, July 22
All PAWS and PAWS-T programs are first-come, first-served, and you must be registered to attend!
To register for a PAWS or PAWS-T program, follow these simple steps:
If you have trouble logging into your Empower Pride Page, please contact email@example.com.
As you complete the registration form, please answer every question to the best of your knowledge. This will help us give you the best PAWS experience possible. Once you have registered, return to this page for information on how to prepare for your PAWS program.
