Greensboro College Tannenbaum-Sternberger Colloquium Focuses on Sexuality and Faith April 12

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College’s final Tannenbaum-Sternberger Colloquium of 2018-2019 will focus on “The Informed Citizen: Healthy Sexuality and Healthy Faith in a Rapidly Changing World.”

The event begins at 3 p.m. Friday, April 12, in 109 Proctor Hall West on campus. It is free and open to the public. A reception will follow. Free parking is available behind the college’s Admissions Welcome Center at West Market Street and College Place.

The presenter is the Rev. Dr. Joshua Noblitt, a 2000 graduate of Greensboro College. He serves as associate pastor and Minister of Social Justice and Evangelism at Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Atlanta. He also is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified sex therapist in private practice.

Noblitt also has been active on various local and national nonprofit boards and civic boards, currently including the City of Atlanta Mayor’s LGBTQ Advisory Board, the Fulton County (Ga.) Department of Family and Children Services Advisory Board, and WonderRoot Inc. He has been a member of the Atlanta Police Department’s Volunteer Chaplain Corps since 2013.

Noblitt holds a B.S. in political science from Greensboro College and an M.Div. and D.Min. from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

The 2018-2019 colloquium series, “The Informed Citizen,” has been underwritten by the Tannenbaum-Sternberger Foundation, a private foundation that strives to improve the quality of life for the people of Guilford County, N.C., by funding projects that make a difference in the lives of the people in the community.
