Greensboro College Presents Tannenbaum-Sternberger Colloquium on Student-Athletes March 20
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College’s Tannenbaum-Sternberger Colloquium Series presents “What You Need to Know to Be a Collegiate Student-Athlete,” 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the Sternberger Center in J.A. Jones Library on campus.
The event is free and open to the public, and it is ideal for high-school student-athletes and their parents.
The presenter is Patty Raube Keller ’98, currently a professor of sports administration in the School of Human Services at the University of Cincinnati.
Previously, she served as director of physical education and health, director of compliance, assistant athletic director for compliance, and senior women’s administrator at the University of Mary in North Dakota.
She also has served as compliance/life skills assistant at Rutgers’s New Brunswick (N.J.) campus and as assistant athletic director, senior women’s administrator and adjunct professor of psychology at Rutgers’s Camden campus, as well as assistant athletic director for compliance and student services at Rowan University in New Jersey.
She holds a B.S. in physical education and sports medicine from Greensboro College, an M.Ed. in administration and counseling from Campbell University, and an Ed.D. in education leadership from Rowan University. She was the 2017 winner of the Greensboro College’s Alumni Excellence Award.
The theme of the 2018-2019 Tannenbaum-Sternberger Colloquium Series is, “The Informed Citizen.”
The Tannenbaum-Sternberger Foundation, which underwrites the series, is a private foundation that strives to improve the quality of life for the people of Guilford County, N.C., by funding projects that make a difference in the lives of the people in the community.
