  • Greensboro College Community Mourns the Death of Its Oldest Living Alumna

    GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College community is mourning the loss of the woman believed to have been the college’s oldest living alumna, Mary Elizabeth Pugh Gildersleeve, a member of the Class of 1938 who passed away Jan. 24, 2020. Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
