  • Greensboro College Alumna Will Publish Book on Mountain Craft and Folklore Sept. 1

    GREENSBORO, N.C. – Catherine Slusar “Cathy” Buck ’15 has a book coming out Sept. 1 on Appalachian crafts and folklore. “Granny Buck’s Dibs and Dabs: Appalachian Traditions and Magical Ways” covers everything from water witching to candle and soap making, love spells to crossroads and graveyards. Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
