Dance Minor

The goal of the Dance Minor is to give students an understanding and appreciation of the basic principles of dance performance and to develop each student’s individual movement style.

Students take classes in dance technique, choreography, and special topics. Classes offered include ballet, tap, jazz, ballroom, ensemble, and dance audition techniques. A total of 20 hours is required. All dance minors gain a broad base of movement knowledge. This knowledge will be the basis for developing performance ability. Furthermore, participation in a variety of dance performances will allow the student to put classroom theories into practice.

“I loved the GC Honors program and Greensboro College. I felt safe and a sense of genuine belonging at the college. I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.”
