Study Abroad with Greensboro College

At Greensboro College, we believe studying abroad enriches your academic experience and supports personal growth in powerful ways.

By stepping outside your comfort zone, you’ll explore new cultures, gain fresh perspectives, and build lasting relationships. Studying abroad challenges you to think differently and prepares you to thrive in an interconnected world.

We’re here to help you take this next step and make the most of your Greensboro College journey—wherever it may lead.

Study Abroad Programs

There are several ways to pursue study abroad experiences through Greensboro College.

Short-Term Summer Programs

Spend 3–6 weeks abroad combining academic coursework with international travel. These programs focus on specific themes—like food systems in Costa Rica—and offer immersive, hands-on learning.

Semester Abroad

Spend a full fall or spring semester at one of our partner institutions. You’ll take 3–4 courses, just as you would at GC, while fully experiencing a new culture and academic environment.

Full Academic Year Abroad

Immerse yourself in another culture for an entire academic year. You’ll study at one or two partner universities and continue your academic progress while gaining a deeper global perspective.

Why Study Abroad?

Study abroad offers more than travel—it’s a chance to grow, learn, and see the world through a new lens. While you’ll enjoy exploring new places and tasting new foods, the heart of the experience lies in academic discovery and personal transformation.

You’ll be challenged to ask new questions, seek meaningful answers, and reflect on your place in a global community. You’ll meet people with different worldviews who will inspire and stretch your thinking. Along the way, you’ll gain practical skills—making decisions independently, managing your time and resources wisely, and thinking critically about your experience.

Study abroad is a formative journey—one that will shape how you see the world and your role within it.

That path has led me to complete my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.”
