The college will operate under normal business hours on Friday, February 6.

Due to the potential for inclement weather on Thursday morning, February 5, Greensboro College campus will operate on a delayed schedule with remote learning and operations until 12 PM.

The Reynolds Center and Britt’s Coffee Shop will open at 12 PM.

Employees should reach out to their supervisors if they cannot safely reach the campus. 

Students – Please exercise caution if commuting and contact your professors if you have any issues traveling to campus.

The Greensboro College campus will open on a delayed schedule for Tuesday, February 3, with remote learning and operations until 12 PM.

The Renolds Center will open at 12 PM, but Britt’s Coffee Shop will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Just a reminder that Monday (February 2) will be a remote day for all students, faculty, and staff.

Residence halls will remain open, and the dining hall will operate on a modified schedule. 

Remember to exercise caution if travel is necessary. The college’s campus facilities staff, cafeteria staff and public safety have been working nonstop over the weekend to keep the campus safe and clear of snow/ice from the parking lots and walkways. Some walkways and parking lots may still be icy, so use your best judgment and be cautious if navigating around campus. 

The Greensboro College Inclement Weather Team will regroup later tomorrow afternoon to assess campus conditions and provide information about Tuesday’s schedule.

The college will open under normal operating hours tomorrow, January 30.

Due to the potential for inclement weather this weekend, all classes and events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday are cancelled, and Monday (February 2) will be a remote day for all students, faculty, and staff.

Residence halls will remain open, and the dining hall will operate on a modified schedule. 

The College made this early decision to give students the opportunity to travel home or off campus through Monday if they so choose. 

In-season athletes: Please make sure you connect with your team coach about your weekend schedule prior to making any alternative plans.

Residential students will receive an email with additional information about cafeteria service hours and other important details. Please stay tuned.

The GC Dining hall will be open for lunch from 11 AM – 1:30 PM and dinner will be served from 5 PM – 8 PM. Use best judgment if traveling to the campus.

There has been a change in plans, and the Greensboro College campus WILL CLOSE TODAY, Wednesday, January 28.

Conditions are still icy around campus, including some main walkways and paths and secondary roads in the area so out of an abundance of caution, the College will function under remote operations and remote learning today.

The GC Dining hall will be open for lunch from 11 AM – 1:30 PM and dinner will be served from 5 PM – 8 PM. GC Public Safety and Security and Residence Hall staff will be on-site.

The Campus will open on a delayed schedule on Wednesday, January 28, starting at 12 PM. 

Please use your best judgment when traveling to campus. Employees should reach out to their supervisors if they cannot safely reach the campus.

GC Facilities staff are making progress with clearing ice from parking lots, sidewalks and other walkways on campus. The GC Dining hall will serve lunch from 11 AM – 1:30 PM and dinner will be served from 5 PM – 8:00 PM. 

Senior Students and the Senior Salute Event – Rescheduled. 

Senior Solute has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, February 4th, from 1 – 6 PM, in the Main Center within the Main Building.

The GC Inclement Weather Team will continue to assess campus conditions and provide updates if needed.

Greensboro College campus will remain closed today and on Tuesday, January 27th.  
The College will continue remote operations and remote learning.

GC Facilities staff continue to clear parking lots, sidewalks and other walkways on campus. The GC Dining hall is open, serving lunch from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM and dinner will be served from 5 PM – 6:30 PM both today (Monday) and Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Travel is still hazardous on some of the main and back roads, please refrain from travel if possible. More details to come regarding Wednesday’s operating schedule though as of now, the college plans to open on Wednesday, January 28. Any additional schedule changes will be communicated through GC email and your GC Alert.

For Monday, January 26, Greensboro College will be closed, and all classes and regular operations are remote only. The National Weather Service forecast is a 100% chance of sleet and ice from Saturday afternoon through Monday morning. 

Predicted ice accumulations may cause widespread power outages throughout the state and travel is not advised after midday Saturday. 

Residential students remaining in the halls will have cafeteria service 11 am to 1:30 pm and 5 – 6 pm. GC Public Safety and Security and Residence Hall staff will be on-site.

Students should check their GC email for communication from individual faculty about course expectations and virtual meetings.

Any additional schedule changes will be communicated through emails and GC Alerts. Please monitor your GC email, weather forecast apps and cellular devices for possible updates should conditions change.

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
