
Honors Program Academics
CURRICULUM
The Honors Program is a four-year (eight semester) sequence. The entire sequence of courses totals 24 credit hours. The first two years of the Honors Program sequence consist of four team-taught interdisciplinary courses. These four courses will fulfill five general education requirements across multiple disciplines. Completing the honors sequence fulfills a Minor in Humanities. The Honors Program is the only way to fulfill a humanities minor at Greensboro College.

HONORS THESIS PROJECT
The last two years of the Honors Sequence are spent completing the Honors Thesis Project. The Honors Thesis Project must have a research component, but each project can be decided by the student. Students may have a creative project, a historical analysis, scientific research, etc. HON 3010 is taught by a team of professors to give insight into the thesis project, and giving students guidance as they develop their topic, select advisors, and propose their thesis to the Honors Committee. After HON 3010, students are working exclusively with their thesis advisors to complete the Honors Sequence HON 3020, HON 4810, and HON 4820.
Thesis Presentation
In the final semester, students will present their finished thesis in a lecture hall on the Greensboro College Campus. Thesis presentations are open to the campus community. Conference Opportunities
Conferences
In addition to the thesis presentations, students have the opportunity to take their work to Honors Conferences. Students submit abstracts of their research to be considered at Honors Conferences and present alongside other Honors students. Some conferences students have presented at are: NCHA, SNCURCS, UNCG Loyd Honors Symposium, NCHC.
