Kelly A. Poquette, Ph.D

KELLY A. POQUETTE, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Music Education and the Coordinator of Music Education at Greensboro College. She is a veteran educator with certifications from the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, Master Certification in 2020,  and the Feierabend Association for Music Education, First Steps in Music, and Conversational Solfege Level I. She has received district-, regional-, and state-level accolades, including being named the 2021 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Piedmont-Triad Region Teacher of the Year, where she was one of nine teachers representing the 100,000 teachers in North Carolina. Kelly has taught all grades from pre-kindergarten through graduate students virtually and in person. She holds a B.A. from Wisconsin Lutheran College, an M.M. Ed. from VanderCook College of Music, and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, all in Music Education. Her service activities include serving as president of the Central Carolina Chapter of AOSA and as a member of The Orff Echo Editorial Board.
