Dr. Susan Connelly

Dr. Connelly currently serves as a Professor of Education and Coordinator of the Birth to Kindergarten Education Program.

She received a BA in Psychology and a Master of Education in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Young Children with Disabilities from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Her research has focused on building partnerships between families and teachers of young children.

Dr. Connelly has taught at Greensboro College since 2003. She actively serves in the early childhood educational community as an advocate for teachers, a professional development project development partner, grant writer, and has recently engaged in development of specialized curriculum and materials for young children. She has ongoing collaborative partnerships with NC pre-K programs, area Head Start organizations and other early childhood programs in our community.  In 2010, she was the recipient of the Award for Exemplary Teaching awarded by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church.

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
