Dr. Kathleen Keating

Dr. Keating earned her BA from Wellesley College with double majors in psychology and English. She earned her MA in English from the University of California, Irvine, and her PhD in English from the same. She joined Greensboro College in 1998.

In her classes, Dr. Keating hopes that students will be open to the discovery of the unknown. If they are willing to take the risk of trying different learning activities, including creative projects, self-reflection, and games, students can learn a great deal not only about the subject at hand, but also about themselves. Likewise, a liberal arts college can offer a dazzling range of encounters with new ideas and new people, especially when we bring a willingness to explore.

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald, Greensboro College class of 2019

“I loved the GC Honors program and Greensboro College. I felt safe and a sense of genuine belonging at the college. I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to complete my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.”
