Greensboro College Offers Non-Credit Certification and Training Programs for Spring 2018

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College will offer a number of non-academic-credit certification courses and training programs for Spring 2018. They include:

Paralegal Certification Education Program: an accelerated course that allows students to attain their state paralegal certification. Students must have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree to be eligible to attend this 19-week program. The course requires 190 contact hours and 300 overall hours. The in-class hours are reached by attending classes for four hours two nights a week, along with Saturday classes.

Upcoming Spring Schedule: 6-10 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 6-June 12, plus 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. one to two Saturdays a month. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Program Fee: $4,757 using the payment-plan option or $4,500 if paid in full.

aPHR™ Certification Education Program: If you are exploring or just beginning a professional career in human resources, Greensboro College’s Associate Professional in Human Resources™ (aPHR™) is the perfect program for you. Greensboro College has joined with the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), the governing body of the SPHR & PHR exam, to offer this program. The aPHR™ is the only HR certification created for individuals who are just launching their professional HR careers. Upon successful completion of this 30-hour program and the aPHR™ exam, the student will be eligible for this professional certification in the HR field.

Upcoming Spring Schedule: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays, Feb. 10, 24, Mar. 3, 10, 24. Program Fee:  $1,299 (includes books and materials). Exam and application fees are additional and the responsibility of the student.

SAT/ACT Test Preparation Program: Greensboro College’s SAT and ACT Test Preparation classes have been designed by two Triad teachers whose combined experience spans more than 60 years. Develop personal goals for SAT/ACT scores based on students’ individual college choices. Build confidence while learning test taking tips & strategies. Enjoy a classroom environment where the instructors’ co-teaching method allows for both group and individualized discussions.

Upcoming Spring SAT Schedule: 2-5 p.m. Sundays, Feb. 11, 18, 25, March 4. Cost: $399.

Upcoming Spring ACT Schedule: 2-5 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 14, 21, 28, and Feb. 4. Cost: $399.

Developing Emerging Nonprofit Leaders Who Can Influence Others: This workshop is for anyone who is an emerging leader in the nonprofit or public/government sectors. You will participate in a hands-on workshop that will engage you in proven leadership principles that will help you improve the performance of your team and build capacity of your organization.

Upcoming Spring Schedule: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17. Program Fee:  $199.

Grant Writing and Compliance: This workshop offers a hands-on experience. Participants will learn the Logic Model and how it is used for program development, and how to write goals, objectives, outcomes, and budget narrative. Other topics will include: how to plan the program evaluation, writing letters of inquiry, proposals and applications for foundations, corporations, and private foundations, and stewardship and reporting.
