Greensboro College Exhibition of Paintings, “Vision and Intuition,” Opens Jan. 17
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College presents “Vision and Intuition,” an exhibition of paintings by the husband-and-wife team of Charlotte and Erik Ström, Jan. 17 through Feb. 23.
An opening reception will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, in the Anne Rudd Galyon and Irene Cullis Galleries in Cowan Humanities Building on campus. Regular exhibition hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. Both the reception and the exhibition are free, and the public is invited.
The Ströms incorporate elements of abstraction and design into representational environments in order to further enhance the emotional and psychological impact of the subject matter. Some of their paintings were painted by one or the other, while some are collaborations.
Greensboro College’s Department of Art offers the B.A. or B.S. in Art and the B.A. in Art Education.
The program, with individual attention to students, combines classic art principles with the liberal-arts foundations of diverse branches of inquiry, including both science and the humanities, so that students can incorporate as much of the world as possible into their own art-making.
