Tannenbaum-Sternberger Foundation Awards Almost $10,000 to Fund Greensboro College Colloquium Series

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Tannenbaum-Sternberger Foundation has awarded a grant of almost $10,000 to Greensboro College to continue funding of the college’s long-running colloquium series.

The Tannenbaum-Sternberger Colloquium Series at Greensboro College features Greensboro College faculty and other experts who present a variety of relevant topics from their own research and experience. This latest award from the Tannenbaum-Sternberger Foundation provides $9,620 to fund the series over the 2017-2018 academic year.

The Colloquium Series at Greensboro College began about 16 years ago. The Tannenbaum-Sternberger Foundation has funded the series for the past three years.

Greensboro College faculty are among some of our nation’s top scholars and teachers in their respective disciplines. Many have been recognized with awards and prizes by external professional and governmental associations. The core of the colloquium series is always presented by Greensboro College scholars. The college also attracts other scholars who offer presentations outside the research and teaching interests of Greensboro College faculty.

The Tannenbaum-Sternberger Foundation is a private foundation that strives to improve the quality of life for the people of Guilford County, N.C., by funding projects that make a difference in the lives of the people in the community.

“I loved the GC Honors program and Greensboro College. I felt safe and a sense of genuine belonging at the college. I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.”
