Dr. Yen Nguyen is a dedicated educator and student advocate passionate about fostering personal growth, career readiness, and wellbeing throughout the learning journey. She believes learning happens through experience and inspires students to engage curiously, reflect deeply, and connect theory with real life. So, their education becomes a transformative journey.

Yen began her career as a student recruitment officer sending Vietnamese students abroad. Over 15 years in leadership roles in international and higher education in Vietnam, she launched marketing campaigns, service-learning projects, and student exchange programs. She has collaborated with international education partners in the US., Canada, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, among others, broadening her perspective and strengthening her intercultural communication and international collaboration skills. Before joining Greensboro College, she taught marketing in New Zealand and delivered corporate and internal training in Vietnam.

Her academic journey complements her professional experience, with a Doctorate in Marketing Management and a Master of Marketing with Distinction from the University of Otago, New Zealand, where she was awarded a doctoral scholarship. She also received an MBA from Andrews University, Michigan. Her research interests include lived experiences, consumer behavior, sustainable marketing, wellbeing, and experiential learning. She has also earned a Certificate in The Science of Wellbeing from Yale University and a Certificate in Higher Education Teaching from Harvard University, reflecting her ongoing commitment to student success and holistic wellbeing.

Outside of work, Yen enjoys exploring nature, photographing flowers and plants, discovering food cultures, and learning new skills. Her greatest joy is seeing students recognize their strengths, build resilience, embrace memorable experience, and confidently step into their futures with purpose.

Joshua currently studies astrodynamics at Virginia Tech University and is an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. Candidate.
