Contract Admissions Recruiter
JOB SUMMARY:
Greensboro College is searching for a temporary contractor to assist in recruiting student applicants. Applicant must live in New Jersey, Long Island, NY, Central Connecticut, or Boston. The recruiter represents the College on high school private visits, and, on occasion, at college fairs. The goal of this position is to establish relationships with school counselors and Career Center Directors to help identify students most likely to be successful and graduate from Greensboro College.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working with the Vice President for Enrollment and other admission staff:
- Contact, schedule, represent and follow up with prospective students (interested in Greensboro College) at private visits and college day fairs.
- Communicate with the Admission Office students who are interested in more information from the College.
- Advise and counsel prospective students and families on the College’s processes and eligibility requirements for admission.
- Travel required.
The College Admissions Recruiter will not read admission applications or evaluate candidates for admission.
At the College’s expense, the College Admissions Recruiter will travel to Greensboro College (once) to tour the campus, meet with students and learn about the admissions process.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
- Knowledge of the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets)
- Ability to work independently with a clear understanding of priorities, deadlines and the overall goals of the College
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with counselors, students and parents
- Knowledge of schools in the Greater New Jersey, Long Island, Boston, and Connecticut areas.
- Must be available to visit schools during the day from September-early December
- Occasional night college fairs required
- Sales or related experience preferred
