Greensboro College Hosts Business Speaker Joseph Galli Jr. Feb. 13

Joseph Galli Jr.GREENSBORO, N.C. – Joseph Galli Jr., chief executive officer and group executive director of Techtronic Industries (TTI), will speak at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, on “Achieving Career Success Through Self-Controlled Motivation” in the Gail Brower Huggins Performance Center in Odell Building on campus.

The event is free, and the public is invited. Free parking is available in the lot behind the college’s Admissions Welcome Center at West Market Street and College Place.

Galli has held his current position for 11 years. Previously he had been chief executive officer of Techtronic Appliances, joining the company in 2006.

Galli began his business career in 1980 with Black & Decker, where he worked for more than 19 years, rising to become president of Worldwide Power Tools & Accessories. During his tenure at Black & Decker, he was responsible for the highly successful launch of the DeWalt® Brand heavy-duty power tools in 1992.

He served as president and chief operating officer of Amazon.com from 1999 to 2000 before becoming a director and chief executive officer of Newell Rubbermaid Inc., where he served through 2005.

Galli holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from Loyola College in Baltimore.
