Destiney Allen ’19 Named Director of Alumni Giving and Programs

Destiney Allen '19GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College has named Destiney Allen ’19 director of alumni giving and programs.

In that role, she will be organizing Homecoming & Family Weekend events and alumni events throughout the region, as well as working with alumni on gifts.

Allen graduated with honors from Greensboro College in May with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in English. She was a Dean’s List student and was inducted into the Sigma Tau Delta English honor society and the Psi Chi psychology honor society.

While in college, she was a member of the marching band’s color guard, a resident advisor, and a financial representative of the college’s chapter of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, working with the nonprofit Autism Speaks. She also served as an Admissions student ambassador, leading campus tours for prospective students.

She had also worked as a secretary with the college’s Office of Institutional Advancement and as a college Phonathon caller.

Before joining the staff, she had worked since May 2017 as a sales associate with Ross Stores in Greensboro and in her hometown of Lincolnton, N.C. Previously, she had been also been a sales associate with Dollar General in Lincolnton. She also had been an intern at the nonprofit Youth Focus in Greensboro.

Joshua currently studies astrodynamics at Virginia Tech University and is an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. Candidate.
