Film & Media Studies Minor

Greensboro College’s new Film and Media Studies minor blends critical analysis with hands-on creation. Taught by core faculty with real filmmaking, videography, and editing experience, the minor covers everything from screenwriting and media production to digital videography and media & culture, with room to explore specialized topics like African American Film & Culture and Horror Lit/Film.

Requiring 20 credit hours of coursework — including required classes and a flexible slate of electives spanning film, photography, graphic design, and new media — this interdisciplinary minor pairs well with a wide range of majors and prepares students to think critically about the media that shapes our world, while building the practical skills to help create it.
