PAWS Orientation

Paws: Preparing, Advising, & Welcoming Students

PAWS weekend long, new student orientation program following College Check-In where incoming students learn about campus and academic life, begin to make connections with their peers, and participate in campus events at Greensboro College. This is their first opportunity to get involved on campus and meet faculty and staff.

PAWS is the first time students interact with Greensboro College faculty and staff, current students, and incoming students as they prepare for the upcoming academic year. PAWS provides foundational knowledge about life at GC – academically and socially! Students learn more about what opportunities await them and make connections their first weekend on campus.

We can’t wait to see you at PAWS and answer all of your questions as you prepare!

2026 dates will be announced soon!

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald, Greensboro College class of 2019

“I loved the GC Honors program and Greensboro College. I felt safe and a sense of genuine belonging at the college. I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to complete my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.”

- Dr. Josh Fitzgerald, Class of ’19, Mathematics Major

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
