Dr. Jason Stroud

Dr. Stroud serves as an Assistant Professor of History.

He received his BA in History from The Citadel, his M.A. in History from NC State University, and his Ph.D. in American History from UNC-Greensboro.  His research specialty is early American History, especially the early American South.  Dr. Stroud had a long career in public schools, including four years as Supervisor of Social Studies curriculum and instruction in Guilford County Schools, and taught courses in American and European History at UNCG and Greensboro College before joining the GC faculty in August of 2021.

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
