Greensboro College Promotes Professors Michelle Plaisance and William MacReynolds

Michelle PlaisanceGREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College has promoted two assistant professors to associate professor.

They are Michelle Plaisance, associate professor of English and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and director of the college’s M.A. in TESOL program, and William MacReynolds, associate professor and dean of the School of Business.

Both promotions are retroactive to August 2017 and were approved Oct. 6 by the college’s Board of Trustees.

Plaisance holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and an M.A.T. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She joined the faculty in 2014.

MacReynolds holds a B.S. from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He joined the full-time faculty in 2014 after having taught part-time for several years.

Greensboro College provides a liberal arts education grounded in the traditions of the United Methodist Church and fosters the intellectual, social, and, spiritual development of all students while supporting their individual needs.

Founded in 1838 and located in downtown Greensboro, the college enrolls about 1,000 students from 29 states and territories, the District of Columbia, and seven foreign countries in its undergraduate liberal-arts program and four master’s degree programs.
