Follow these steps and you’ll be on your way to being a Greensboro College student.

FOR FULL-TIME UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Preparing for college can be confusing, but we’ve got you covered. Follow these steps and you’ll be on your way to becoming a Greensboro College student. Access all forms online at:

https://empowerweb.greensboro.edu/fusebox.cfm

1. FILE YOUR FAFSA AND EXPLORE FINANCIAL AID

Have you filed your FAFSA? If not, please go to FAFSA.ed.gov. FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid and is your opportunity to receive help with college expenses. File your FAFSA by March 1 for priority consideration. Be sure to add our school code to the form: 002930. For more information about financial aid, visit www.greensboro.edu/financial-aid.php or email the financial aid office at financialaid@greensboro.edu.

2. SEND IN YOUR DEPOSIT

To guarantee your spot in the upcoming class, we need a deposit of $200. The deposit is due on May 1, but as soon as you know you want to attend Greensboro College please let us know by submitting your deposit. You may also pay your deposit online through the Pride Page Portal.

3. REGISTER FOR PAWS

Offered over the summer, PAWS is a one-day orientation program for incoming students and their families. This required program is an excellent opportunity for you to meet faculty, staff, and new friends. You’ll also benefit from early advising and finalizing your course schedule for the upcoming fall semester. You will meet other incoming first-year students and Pride Leaders (Orientation Leaders), and you will gain an overall feeling of comfort and confidence before arriving for the fall semester. Dates for Summer 2017 are Fridays, June 16, June 23, July 8, July 21.  A transfer-student-only PAWS session will be held on Monday, July 24.

Additional information and PAWS registration

4. COMPLETE A HOUSING APPLICATION

Whether you intend to live on or off campus, please complete the Housing/Commuter Application and let us know your plans. This is how you make your living, eating and parking arrangements. If you will have a car on campus, you will need to fill out the motor vehicle registration form.

5. TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH

Greensboro College is privileged to have a health services partner to help our students with the transition to college as well as to ensure long-term access to medical records. Once you have paid your enrollment deposit you will be added to the Magnus health system. Magnus will automatically generate your log-in credentials and send you a welcome email instructing you how to log in for the first time. Every student will pay Magnus a one-time fee of $25 for their service (this is your student health fee and allows you to be seen in the health center free of charge during your college tenure). Magnus will track your health history, emergency contacts, health insurance, and immunization records. You will need to complete each of these sections after you have logged into Magnus and prior to arriving on campus. The great benefit Magnus offers is that it also retains all health charts from the college health center and gives you life-time access to this information and you will easily be able to transfer this information to a graduate school or future medical providers.

6. COMPLETE A LEARNING DISABILITY VOLUNTARY  DISCLOSURE FORM (optional)

If you would like to obtain services for a disability, please fill out the Learning Disability Voluntary Disclosure form. This ensures that our Office of Accessibility can provide needed services to help make your time here successful.
