Greensboro College Presents Showcase Day Nov. 30

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College presents its Fall 2017 Showcase Day, which features presentations and demonstrations of what students have learned during the semester, on Thursday, Nov. 30.

Except where noted, all presentations are free. The public is invited.

The schedule includes:

  • Biology presentation on the vaccination controversy, 8:30-10 a.m., 214 Proctor Hall East.
  • Greensboro College Seminar section projects, 9-10:30 a.m., Mane Stage, Royce Reynolds Family Student Life Center (1015 W. Market St., corner of Tate Street).
  • Greensboro College Seminar presentation on Greensboro College athletic history, 9-9:30 a.m., Coterie, Royce Reynolds Family Student Life Center.
  • Theatre monologue presentations, 9-10 a.m., Annie Sellars Jordan Parlor Theatre, Main Building.
  • Honors students’ posters on comparative papers, 9:45-11:15 a.m., Honors House.
  • English, Communication & Media Studies senior capstone presentations, 10-11:30 a.m., 109 Proctor Hall West.
  • Kinesiology internship poster and panel presentations, 10-11:30 a.m., B06 Proctor Hall East
  • School of Business poster presentations on internships and competitive business games, 10:30-11:30 a.m., 106 Proctor Hall East.
  • Criminal Justice and Sociology internship presentations, 11 a.m.-12 p.m., 223 Proctor Hall West.
  • Strings class holiday music performance, 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Odell Building lobby.
  • History poster session on Greensboro during World War I, 12-1 p.m., Proctor Hall West hallway.
  • History presentations on federal policy and education, 12-1:30 p.m., 204 Proctor Hall West.
  • Art seniors’ presentation and Q&A, 12:30-1 p.m., Anne Rudd Galyon and Irene Cullis Galleries, Cowan Humanities Building.
  • Readings from The Lyre, the college’s literary magazine, 1-2 p.m., Cowan Humanities Building lobby.
  • Presentation on international organizations’ history and activities, 1:30-3 p.m., 204 Proctor Hall West.
  • Honors juniors’ posters of planned thesis projects, 1:30-2:30 p.m., Honors House.
  • Theatre presentation of “The Gift of the Magi” and “A Christmas Carol,” 2-4 p.m., Annie Sellars Jordan Parlor Theatre, Main Building. (Tickets for the public are $10.)
  • Dance showcase, 4-5 p.m., Gail Brower Huggins Performance Center, Odell Building.
  • Ethics Fair poster presentation, 4-5 p.m., Lea Center, Main Building.
  • Teacher-education undergraduate and graduate research presentations, 4-6 p.m., 121 Proctor Hall East.
