Discussion: History of Immigration and Refugees in Greensboro and Guilford County Since the 1980s.

Join Professor Mike Sistrom’s classes for a discussion on immigration and refugees locally since the 1980s. Speakers include:

  • Raleigh Bailey, founding director emeritus of the Center for New North Carolinians at UNCG. He is an expert on US immigration and refugee policy and history, especially in the Triad.
  • Alla Alaghbri ’18, an Honors History and Religion major who immigrated to the U.S. with his family from Yemen.
