Anne Jones Hurd, the daughter of a Greensboro College alumna and the college’s longtime former business manager, joined the staff in August 2015 as vice president and chief advancement officer.

Hurd graduated from Greensboro College in 1981, earned a master’s in Applied Communication at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She has served in senior fund-raising and advancement positions at three private educational institutions in Greensboro: Canterbury School, Guilford College, and Greensboro Day School. During her tenure, those institutions successfully completed capital campaigns and related fundraising programs.

Hurd has served as chair of the Greensboro College Alumni Association and on the Board of Trustees, whose Institutional Advancement Committee she chaired.

As the sunlight streamed through the windows of Finch Chapel during her audition, Elena knew Greensboro College felt like home. After earning the top music scholarship available, she spent the next four years studying voice, piano, and history, graduating with a music-performance degree in 2002. Following commencement, Elena joined the GC work family as the switchboard operator. In 2007, she became the Director of Advancement Services, supervising the alumni and donor database, providing prospect development & research, managing gift records and reporting, and facilitating donor recognition and stewardship. As a fan of genealogy, Elena has enjoyed discovering the many GC alumni families. Her husband, Christopher, and two of his brothers also earned bachelor degrees from GC. Elena lives in High Point with her husband and three daughters.

Kaleigh Hemstock graduated from Greensboro College in 2016 with a BA in English. During her four years here, she played lacrosse, served as a Pride Leader, and worked as a work-study student for Admissions. She began working as the Advancement Services Administrator the Monday after graduating. In October 2017, she started her new role as the Director of Alumni Engagement. She is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Higher Education Administration. Originally from Connecticut, she lives in Greensboro with her cat and dog.
