The student who gains admission to Greensboro College has demonstrated by his or her performance during high school and/or college a commitment to learning, leadership and promise of success. Admissions decisions are based on many factors. The most important factor is the student’s academic curriculum.

Other factors include the student’s grades, the profile of the student’s high school or college, standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, or TOEFL), extracurricular involvements and the “Opportunity for Expression” (also known as the application essay). Interviews are not required but are strongly encouraged. Letters of recommendation are optional but always welcome. If you are sending SAT scores to us, Greensboro College’s College Board ID number is 5260.
Greensboro College operates on a rolling basis therefore, we do not have an application deadline. We encourage students to apply as early as possible to maximize opportunities for financial assistance.
Each student accepted into Greensboro College is reviewed for merit scholarships. Merit scholarships are awarded regardless of financial need and are renewable for an additional three years based on the student’s grade point average.
We strongly encourage all students to file the FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) in order for us to consider you for additional aid programs to help meet your cost of attendance at Greensboro College.
Each year, we offer our students need-based scholarships to help them achieve their academic goals. Our Office of Financial Aid is committed to assisting every student with options to pay for their Greensboro College education. Scholarships are awarded based on the student’s need as computed from his or her FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Our FAFSA Code is 002930.
Students could be eligible for activity grants recognizing performance in the Greensboro College concert bands and vocal groups. Only limited numbers of activity grants are available to students.
Recognizing our heritage as a Methodist-affiliated college, we offer scholarships of $200-$400 to Methodist students.
Students with outstanding talents in theatre, music or art may be considered for a fine arts scholarship. Auditions and portfolio evaluations are required. A fine art student may be eligible for a partial academic merit scholarship. Fine Arts students are not eligible for the full amount if receiving a fine arts scholarship.
