Our department is special because…
The Accounting Department at Greensboro College offers a challenging, but well-rounded, curriculum in a liberal arts environment. Notable features of our department include:
- Small class sizes, with classes ranging from 5 to 18 students.
- Strong faculty-student interaction.
- Teaching-oriented faculty who are professionally accredited.
Note what some of our current and former students have said about our department:
“My studies in the accounting field at Greensboro College have adequately prepared me with the necessary skill sets for the transition from student to graduate. The small classroom setting has allowed the professors the unique ability to dive deeper into the different accounting methods and how they are utilized throughout multiple organizations. Being equipped with this detailed education has been fundamental to my having achieved success in my current role as an internal-audit intern for a Fortune 250 corporation. Accounting is a demanding field of study with astronomical rewards for those who choose this path. Through knowledge comes power.”
Class of 2015
“As an accounting major at Greensboro College, I know I am getting the best education possible. The professors of accounting are highly qualified and have superior backgrounds in the accounting field. The classes are small but the professors teach us one on one to further our education. They also promote their students and get them ready for their lives after they graduate from GC.”
Class of 2010
“Greensboro College gave me the knowledge and tools necessary to start me on track to a career in accounting with a local CPA firm. The professors at Greensboro College genuinely care about each of their students and provide one on one attention when needed. Their teaching methods are very effective by developing a strong foundation for accounting fundamentals and by using real world concepts for the accounting industry which has greatly helped me in preparing for the CPA exam.”

“I owe a majority of my success within the accounting profession and life following college to each of my accounting professors who guided me to where I am today and where I will be tomorrow.”

“The process of going back to college has been smooth and easy. Everyone is very helpful, very interested in helping adults to succeed, and very caring. I feel very welcome, coming back to GC after graduating from here in 1982 with a B.A. in English. The staff understands the needs of the adult student as well as traditional students, and they make it wonderfully easy for the adult student to fit in and feel comfortable. The staff is helpful in answering questions quickly, to help the adult students with anything related to the courses they are taking, scheduling for the semester, and advising. I could not ask for a more dedicated, inspiring atmosphere than that created by the staff of the Accounting Department at Greensboro College.“

Meet Senior Selina Price. Growing up in Winston Salem, NC, Selina came to Greensboro College looking for the environment and culture that a small, private school can offer.
She has competed on the swim team, served as president of the college’s chapter of a national business honor society, and worked as an intern. Now, Selina is already looking to her first career after having been offered jobs by both a leading global audit firm and a Fortune 250 company even before she has walked across the graduation stage.
As Selina is setting her sights set on achieving a CFO position one day, she is shaping the kind of future you can count on … one that began when she decided to become Uniquely Greensboro.
