2013-2014 Merit Scholarships

We believe each student should have the opportunity for an outstanding college experience. We’re proud to offer our incoming students significant scholarships annually. Each student accepted into Greensboro College is reviewed for merit and need scholarships. Merit scholarships are awarded regardless of financial need and are renewable for up to three years based on the student’s grade-point  average. Need-based scholarships are determined by a review of information provided on your FAFSA to identify federal, state and institutional funds to help with your costs. Scholarships are also available for students in fine arts, leadership or performance programs, or with a United Methodist affiliation.

Learn more at greensboro.edu/academics/programs/honors/ Competition for our highest academic scholarships is held on Honors Day, Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, by invitation only.

Need-based
Each year, we offer our students need-based scholarships to help them achieve their academic goals. Our Office of Financial Aid is committed to assisting every student with options to pay for their Greensboro College education. Scholarships are awarded based on the student’s need as computed from his or her FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Our FAFSA Code is 002930.

Leadership
Students who have achieved honors in leadership and service could be eligible to receive an additional $1,000 scholarship. Examples include the Eagle Scout and Gold Awards in scouting.

Performance Activity Grants
Students could be eligible for activity grants recognizing performance in the Greensboro College concert bands and vocal groups. Only limited numbers of activity grants are available to students.

United Methodist
Recognizing our heritage as a Methodist-affiliated college, we offer up to $2,000 scholarships to Methodist students.

Fine arts
Students with outstanding talents in theatre, music or art may be considered for additional fine arts scholarships from $500 to $7,500. Auditions and portfolio evaluations are required. Students are evaluated for scholarships based on their complete academic and extracurricular profile.
